We bought a house with a hot tub outside. It sits on the ground and I believe the only support is the earth. I have noticed some cracks in the hot tub acrylic. It is not leaking but we would like to fix this and wondered about how to go about supporting the hot tub. We think the cracks come from the hot tub settling into the ground.

Thank you for any help!

The cracks are most likely due to age. it is common for older tubs to start cracking in their gell coat. Plastics become brittle with age, chemicals, and the sun. However, for stability reasons, a concrete slab would be best under the tub, or even a mini deck for your hot tub, providing the footings are set to code.
