What's the amp draw? More than 30 amps, and yes, it's very likely to eventually overheat and melt.

Might want to replace it with 8 guage braided (from disconnect to spa)...

My mistake... I just went out and checked the cable going to the spa and it is listed as AWG8 with AWG 10 ground...So it is an size 8 wire going to the spa. I always hang around and read these forums, since I learn something new every day :lol: ...

You should be fine, just be sure everything is tight, and that the disconnect is fully inserted :D

No more disconnect. When that baby fried I put in a 50A CH GFCI..Probably should have been one there all along..
