Hi.. I am buying a spa and the recommended GFI is 40 A.

However, I have a good deal on a 60 Amp GFI .... CutlerHammerEaton

I was going to put in a 50 A main panel breaker, run (?? gauge?) wire to the 60 A GFI outside, and then run 6 gauge wire to the spa.

Good bad or ugly? Thanks in advance..........

I'd put a 40 amp breaker in the main with the 60 amp gfci; or 60 amp gfci in the main with a 40 amp breaker at the remote.

Go 6 gauge all the way that way you're covered.
