OK, Here is an update. Since the last post, I have done my research and learned more about these spas. I now know more about my spa. Here is some info about it...
It is 110VAC.
It has a filter.
It has a blower.
It has a heater that looks like a stainless steel tube with a control box connected to it.
It has a pressure switch installed in the stainless steel tube that is in the heater.
It has a two speed motor.
It has a thermostat in the control box with a manual turn dial.
It has a high limit switch.
It has a an air button connected to an air switch that has cam action relays that are supposed to run everything.
The heater/control box is manufactured by pinnacle systems.
When I got it, nothing was wired in the control box. I connected 110v to the blower and it turned on. I did the same with the heater and the everything else. The heater also seemed to work. I found that the humming that I heard from the pump was not the pump running, but a stalled pump.
I put 110v to the low speed red wire of the pump and it just hummed, I put 110v to the high speed black wire and it does nothing. I took the plumbing off the pump and checked for blockage or frozen or hard to turn pump, but it turned very easily. I was told that if it hummed, to check the starting capacitor. I checked the capacitor, and it has some stuff leaking from it and when I shorted it with my screwdriver to discharge it, there was no spark, so I think it may be bad. I am just wondering why it made no sound at all on the high speed? Is this normal if the starting capacitor is bad or do you think it may be another problem with the pump?
Now, I am going to try to wire this thing, but I just am not certain about wiring it, especially since the low speed operates with the heater. Do you have a basic wiring diagram or schematic? It looks like a very basic system. It uses an air switch (cam type) to run everything. It has four poles and some poles are single throw and some poles are double throw.
I really need help and would greatly appreciate any info that you can give to me.
