Post subject: New Spa Wiring 60 amp
PostPosted: Thu Apr 08, 2004 6:35 pm
I am installing a new Sundance spa. I think I have everything that I need for the electrical hookup. I am looking for confirmation on one question. The spa requires 60amps of service. Here is what I plan to do. I will install a 60amp breaker in the main box inside the house. I will run 6/3 wire from there outside, in conduit to the outside box. The outside box will have a 60amp GFI breaker. Here is my question, I know where the red and black wires go, I also know that I need to connect the main ground wire to the grounding block, my question comes to the white wire. The GFI has the pigtail on it, and there is not a second bar in the box that I could use to connect the white wires. I am assuming that I can use a wire nut to attach the pigtail from the GFI to the white wire coming from the main breaker box in the house. I will then feed three wires to the Spa, the red, black and ground. No white runs to the spa because it is a Sundance. If you could confirm that I can connect the white wires this way, I would appreciate it. thanks for your help. I love all the other info on this site.
