I spoke with a tech support guy from jacuzzi, who took over gatsby, he says the earlier models that converts 120 to 240 runs with the red, black and ground wire with the neutral wire disconnected. He says the early models were like that for 20 years. All thats in my head is safety. Is there a way I can intentionally ground something or spray some relay or wiring to verify this unit will ground and trip the breaker. Attached are some schematics, the stock schematic shows running 120(i believe) and the control panel shows the conversion to 240, which doesnt use a nuetral. Is this correct? Thanks for any replys.

The neutral wire has nothing to do with safety...however, according to your second image, a neutral wire is required to run on 220. And looking at what I can see of the time clock, you'll need the neutral for it to run, and you'll probably need it for the pump to run.

Everything seems to be working fine, pump, jets, heater, light on just 2 hots and the bare wire ground. I just want to verify the connection and test it somehow to make sure it trips. Any ideas?
