I have a Caldera Spa with a Relia-flo CP motor/pump. The replacement of this pump is cost prohibative at this time, but I found another pump with the same specs. The new pump is half the cost, and looks like it will readily adapt. The new pump is an Advantage 1.5" 1.5hp center discharge with 2 speeds. Can I substitute this pump for the relia-flo?

Isn't the Caldera pump 2" with an offset discharge? Also, is the pump you found 220volts? Sounds like you may get into more trouble than the savings you would get.
How much is the pump you're looking at and what model Caldera do you have?

My Caldera motor is 115v 2speed and 1.0 to 1.2 HP. This other motor meets the same spec. Additionally, the new pump has a center inlet with a side discharge of the same type and size. The pump body can be rotated on the motor housing to meet idischarge requirements.

More info.. I don't have the information on the model number of my spa as I am at work. The pump I am looking at can be had for about $150 vs. the $305 for the relia-flo motor.
