yep. You have to use care not to break the flimsy bulb from it's rubber threaded base. Even if it does break, to remove the rubber base, I use a large, long flat blade screwdriver and shove the end into the base at the bottom of the filter cannister and unscrew it.

That old apollo air pump does go bad - once it doesn't pump enough, you will never achieve enough water flow through the heater and the system will never work, which is why in my opinion, you should not replace the circuit board as that is usually the last thing to fail on one of these spas.
