I restored a hot tub and it was great fun, I found these Hot Springs very cost effectively and want to fix them. I have some question on equipment, how to test the tubs and basic start up questions.

I have good jet pumps, circ. pump and heater that work in two '94 Grandees'. I have two 97 grandees with no equipment except one jet pump and the control box. Can I interchange the equipment, if so what will interchange.(I believe the motors (Wavemaster 7000) are all 1801 but the wet end is different, Can I buy a new wet end and change them.

I was going to hook up the circ pump and heater in a closed loop to test, is this a bad idea.

To test for leaks I was going to use food coloring and look for color change after three days-will this work.

The shell is in great shape except a crack on the outside only. Is it worth fixing

Any tips on the Hot Springs will help me greatly any imput is greatly appreciated since I understand these are a little unique.

By using a different jet pump, moto-massage may not work because it requires a minimum gpm. Your pump may not meet its needs. Even replacing the wet end...watkins has tweaked impellor sizes in the past. I'd replace with exact pump.

1994 heaters were in the retangular box, Thermistors in your 1997 set-up aren't appropriate.

Shell crack, leave it alone...unless you want a surface crack repair kit, any hotspring folk here can get you one--specific if it's quarite and color too.

It would be my strong recommendation that you replace what originally came installed in the spa or a factory approved upgrade.

Does the word "LIABILITY" have any meaning? Check with your insurance agent to make sure you're covered.
