I am offered a hot tub for free it is a DFA 670 martinique probably mid 80's
I replaced a broken Pipe then decided to test. It is not set up it is on the side of the house. I tapped into the fuse box and wired it up, filled it with water and turned on. The pump and the blower started to go then the pipe that covers the heating element was cracked and started spewing water everywhere. It has a Ramco st-2115 control box. I then heard a pop and the whole thing shut down. I jumped my wires right to the pump, then to the blower and they both work. I tested power into the box and it was good, but no juice coming out of the box. I dont know if it is the control panel or the curcuit board. The hot tub sides need to be replaced and not sure of what other damage, any easy way to test the control panel or the circuit board. I dont want to spend $180 for new curcuit board or $100 plus for control panel, and they still may be more damage. I would rather look for another one. any help I am in Northern

It sounds to me as though you got a nice amount of water into the control board, causing the electrical "pop" you heard. your board is most likely toast. Since you are concerned with having other damage, I would recommend that you hook the pump up to a GFI breaker, and then keep repairing and testing as necessary, for other leaks. Once you are confident that you have the leaks taken care of, invest in a new control board. It is unlikely that the topside control is damaged at this point.
