Does anyone know how to determine if, the pump is bad or not on only one speed. I don't have high speed. Maybe one coil is out or a relay inside of motor or on the Balboa controller? I have a 2 speed system and it's wired for 2 speeds. Does anyone out there have a quick test to determine this?
tks

Usually the 2 speed 110 volt pump motors have four wires. One red, black, green, and white.

White is Neutral

Green is Ground

Red is Low Speed (Hot)

Black is High Speed (Hot)

These are the most common, but may not be the same colors as yours. You should probably check with the manufacturer of the motor to verify this.

A quick way to test the motor is to disconnect the motor from the circuit and connect it directly to 110 VAC. Test each speed individually.

If your motor just hums, you may have a bad motor starting capacitor. These are easily replaced and usually cost as little as five dollars US currency.

Be carefull as electricity can kill!
