I dont know if this is the proper topic but here's the deal.

A buddy at worked recently obtained a used hot tub, an older Liesure Bay model. With help from reading some topics on this site we have been able to get everything working. The heater wiring had toasted out within the box mounted on the tube but I was able to repair it to restore the heating function.

Im not really familar with general hot tub control functions.

With power on, the pump and blower does not activate until rotating the thermostat knob on the heater box. When the water reaches about 94 degrees this thermostat trips shutting the pump and blower off. This doesnt seem proper to me since I see references here often to maintaining 100+ degrees in tubs.

Someone told my buddy the stat on the heater is for cycling the low recirculation speed.

This why Im looking for an explanation of general proper functional operation of the unit.

The controller is an older unit, no digital displays on it. It has two air switches and a thermostat contol on the top side.

So no one can even give a bit of speculation to what Ive asked?

I do realize there is no one abosolute method of operation among all the various makers of hot tubs, Im just looking for general average functional operation info.
