it is a Smart Touch digital 1000. I need some help on how to get it breathing again. Does anyone recognize this tub? It say Jacuzzi on the overflow. The tag has been removed. What size pump should I get (was thinking a 1.5hp 220)? What size blower do I get (was thinking a 1hp 220)? Does the blower plumb in the 2" hole in the side (see photos) and does it supply from the valve on the top of the tub? What do you think about O3 generator (is that the way to go)? I will start on the treated wood surround for it ASAP. Thank you for taking some time to answer me. I love fresh ideas. If the design is good enough, my students could take it to competition. Mike

The way to tell if that 2" opening is for the blower is to use a shop vac on exhaust and hook it to the fitting. Air will come out of the little holes in the seats of the tub. There is no supply hoses for blowers. They draw from air around them. Be sure to plumb in a hartford loop and a check valve in the blower line. A hartford loop is simply plumbing that loops above the water line and back down to the inlet to the tub for the blower. This is to help ensure no water backs into the blower. The check valve is for redundancy. A tub that size can get by with any size blower, down to 1HP.

Sizing a pump is as simple as using 1/4hp for each jet larger than 2". For jets smaller than 2", use 1/8hp per jet. 240V is always better than 120V in that it uses less amperage.

It is hard to tell in your pictures, but it seems that you have a button labeled "to jets" and a knob labeled "blower maybe?". Is this correct? If so, the one you have labeled "to jets" is the old air switch that cycled the old equipment pack, and will not be used with your new system. The knob "blower maybe" actually connects to the top piping for each of the jets, for air induction. This does not get connected to the blower in any fashion.

I forgot to comment about the ozonator.... it is a good idea to use in that it helps keep bacteria and other toxins under control, and you can use less (about one graduation less) chemicals. Other than that, it's completely optional. If you do choose to do so, seek out a CD (corona discharge) unit, as they have better output over their lifespan, and last longer.

Did you ever find out what model spa you have?
I have one very similar to this one and it is a Sun Wave Spa.
