Hi, I have a Raindance/Infinity Spa, with Balboa controls. The max temperature I set the spa at is 104 F, and I would like to set it just 1 degree higher. Is there any way to modify the system so I can do this?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't think you will be able to exceed 104 degrees.
The system uses thermistors, and IC.
Thermistors are chips that change resistance value with temperature.
Integrated Circuits and Printed Circuits rely on proprietary copy written software to operate.
NSF (National Safety Foundation) UL, EL, and APSP, all have governing regulations of industry standards to follow. Along with chemistry residual levels, and turn over rates, the industry must adhere to a set maximum temperature level of 104 degrees.
Balboa use to offer over clocking mods to their processors (from what I have heard),
but no more. (from what I have heard)
( Maybe some one else will chime in on this one :| )
Some how, Watkins Manufacturing has an "UT" or upper temp feature on their Calderas that allows temps up to 108.
Maybe some one can explain all of this to us.

I've found a wealth of information on this board about spa systems. In trying to find how to tweak my Balboa controler to heat to temperatures above 104 I'm coming up with almost nothing. It seems like it should be a fairly simple thing to do by putting a resistor between the temp sending units and the control board. This would give a false temp reading to the board and would allow the heater to continue heating to the desired temp. Using a hand held thermometer it would be easy to get a relationship between the false digital temp reading and the actual temp.
I did find a few posts basically saying anybody that was to do any sort of tweak or bypass to increase the water temp beyond 104 was looking at a death trap, I just don't agree. I'm not a small child, a dog, elderly, and I don't have a bad heart. I had an old Hot Spring for years that I ran at about 106 and I loved it. About 15 min was all I could take before I had to get out, it was great. 104 just doesn't get it with the spa I have now, so I'm going to do what I can to find the resistance values I need to change the temp settings.
I really don't expect a company representative to give me all the right info to modify my spa because of opening themselves up to legal action (the way of the world we live in). I do hate to have to reinvent the wheel in order to determine just what resistance values will work for what I want, but if I'm successful I'll post what I come up with.
Any tips would be appreciated.
