I have a 91 sundance Royale. All my jets work, but I can not get the air bubbles to work. Every time I push the air button I hear a clicking noise coming from the motherboard.

there are two cords going from the control box to the air blower. when it comes into the air blower one goes to the top and the other goes into the rubber boot.

Is power suppose to go thru both cords?

Any help would be a great help.

thanks,

Stacy

without seeing what you are seeing, I am going to wager a guess that the "cord" going to the top of the blower is actually the ground wire. The actual power wire is the one that goes into the "boot". Typically when a Sundance system no longer supplies power to the blower, the triac on the motherboard is bad.

thanks for the repy, I have attached a picture of the air blower.

from the top wire and the one coming from the boot, after it comes out of the wall it is hard to tell which one is which.

the wires from one: green goes to groung (TB3)
white goes to Termial labled TB4
black goes to a Relay labled R4

the other wires: green goes to ground (TB3)
white goes to Relay labled R5
black goes to termal labled TB4

I hope this helps you.

you have a heated air blower system - the 2 supplies are - blower, and heater, however, unfortunately i'm not familiar with this system.
As charger has said, its probable a pcb triac failure has occured (if your blower was multispeed) but also check for onboard fuse and power to the blower - the motor may be bad - unsure of heater supply/operation

thank-you for your reply,

I have checked all the fuses they are good. I know one of the black cords has power, will check the other.

thanks again,

A triac is an electronic switch, in which will either turn "full on" allowing the blower to operate on high, or "pulsed on" which will effectivly run the blower at a reduced speed. It's about 1/2" x 1/2" x 3/16", has 3 wires out the bottom, and often a metallic tab with a hole in it comming out the top.

typically a triac failure is hand in hand with an opto failure adjacent to the triac - 6 legged chip - Usually the triac fuses closed and replacing a triac and not opto results in new triac either remaining on or fusing again (personal experience with 4 sundance boards with this problem) an open circuit triac is possible but rare.
you won't find one at all if your blower is single speed - controlled by relay
