I have a 99 hot springs classic spa. I emptied out the tub to clean, but when I refilled and turned the tub back on, the 30 amp breaker immediately tripped. If I have the 20 amp breaker off, then the 30 amp won't trip. When I flip the 20 amp back on, the 30 amp will trip within 5 seconds. It sounds like a little click of something else in the tub starting to function when the breaker trips.

I replaced the circulation pump two years ago, but after doing some extensive research, it all comes back to the no fault watkins 6000. It looks like I have the original watkins 6000 or at least the original design. I did try disconnecting the black and white wire from the watkings 6000 and the breaker no longer trips. Does this mean I need a new heater? If so, what do I buy (pdr?). What is required to replace this... extra parts? thanks for your help.[/i]

You need a new heater...the new style is just called a no-fault and it does not require any change in plumbing. It will probably cost about $275-$300.
