I have an older Hot Springs Jetsetter that runs on 110. I noticed that my heater wire is getting very hot where it plugs into the control box. It feels normal where it connects to the heater. The plug itself shows little or no sign of discolor. I opened the control box and the ?relay? where the heater wire connects looks ok. The only thing I saw was the white wire connected to it from the heater cord side was discolored. I trimed it and reconnected it and the wire still is getting hot. Any ideas where to start?

Replace the wire.

It's developed resistance over time and is generating heat.

It's just old.

The wire from the heater to the plug, or the wire inside the control box? It looks like the heater wire is a sealed wire to the heater...do I splice it?

thanks
