Hi,

I have this spa with Nu-wave controller 2550 I believe. I am not getting voltage coming out of the contactor that supplies the heater element. Is the contactor bad? I also notice the Hi Pump light is On and I read somewhere that the pump has to be running Low in order for the heater to kick in.

Any ideas. I have not been able to get the manual anywhere. Please Help!!!

Thanks

Check the contactor coil for voltage, if it does not have voltage it will not close. It is possible your spa will not heat when "high" speed pump is on. If you turn the thermostat up and down dose low speed come on and off? Things you can check are for voltage at the contactor coil, the thermostat, pressure switch, the high limit, make sure they are all passing voltage to the coil of the contactor so the contactor will close. Make sure the blower is turned off, some packs will turn off the heater circuit if the blower is on.

Thanks, it looks like its working fine now. Low / high pump and the heater too. Kindda surprised it takes so long to heat up, it took 3 hours to increase temperature 10 degrees from 79 to 89. I thought it would take much less. Is this temperature increase normal for a 240 Volt Spa?? Thanks for the input.
