Hey everyone,

I received a Jacuzzi Z150 hot tub for free, and needed to replace one of the pumps, and adjust the pressure sensor to make it work. In the end it works!! I have some questions though, because it doesn't seem to behave very reliable. The problem is I don't know if maybe it acts this way for a reason, or if maybe my control board is hosed. Heres what it does:

It has 5 settings "off, low pump on without light, low pump on with light, high pump on with light, high pump on without light"

When I cycle through, sometimes I can make the high speed pumps come on with the light, and sometimes I can't! Very rarely will they come on with the light. So its like its skipping a step.

Also, if I am in the tub with the high speed pump on, the tub will not heat. I was in it for 2 hours last night and it lost 10 degrees. Once I shut the high speed pumps off, the heat came back on in about 15 minutes. The weird thing is that sometime the tub will heat with the high speed pump on, sometimes it won't?

How can I know the EXACT method of operation of this control board? Maybe its supposed to behave like this?

Thanks for the help guys!

...Tim

Functions:

1) Low speed
2) Low speed/Light
3) High speed/Light
4) High

If it's 110v, it only heats on low speed.

If it's 220v 50 amp, it heats on high or low :D

So if the board doesn't work the same way everytime, its intermittant, etc, could I possibly have a control board that is freaking out?

I saw a place on the net where you could send your control board to and they could tell you if it was ok or not, for a small fee. I wonder if I should do this?

Sensors and pumps are easy to diagnose and repair. Control boards aren't in my opinion!!
