WIll it hurt to run 6g stranded wire for the wiring from the circuit box to the disconnect? This has been a debate of mine. The wire i may buy does not have an amperage rating(well not one posted). I need 50. How can i determine if it will work???

6 Gauge Stranded is perfect for the application.

As far as the rest of it - ampacity limits are determined by a number of factors, including length of run, ambient temperature, types of connections being made, full load conditions etc...

6 gauge is the recommended size and will work just dandy.
