I recently had to add some water to my tub and t-totally forgot about it. Well, 3 hours later, I remembered and shut it off. Everything seemed ok then but the next morning the water was cold. I went to check and the GFCI was tripped. I reset it and turned the tub on, no problems. When I went to adjust the temperature on the thermostat, as soon as the heater kicked on, the GFCI trips immediately. I did dry out the inside of the panel in case the components were wet but had no luck, it could be the componets are still a little damp on the inside. Any ideas?

The most common problem with spas, with the most common symptoms... your heater element is dead

Hello Hottubheadache

Try using a blow dryer to blow out each component like the contactors, air switches back of pc board, heater compartment, ect ect. Flooding your system is not good but if you can get all the water out in should restart unless you shorted something. Make sure everyt thing is dry. then try it agani.

:D

Thanks, I had tried drying it out with a blowdryer and a leaf blower but didn't get much results. I ordered some new plumbing pieces and have to fix some minor leaks so when I get that done and refill, I'll let you know. I also ordered a new element just in case that's the issue as well. I'll let you know what happens.

I installed the new parts to fix the leak and never had to use the element. Apparently the components were just wet and had to dry out. Thanks for the help.
