I have 220V at the feed terminals but nothing works, not even the clock. Fuse ohms out to zero so should be ok. Any hints?

Remove the fuse and recheck. You may still have a bad fuse, but when you use the multitester to check with it in circuit, you could actually be reading the transformer primary winding, which will still read in the very low resistance readings. If that checks out ok, then look for a molex connector on the board, and remove it (typically 6 positions, sometimes 4) and that is often your transformer connector. You could check your transformer the same way as the fuse, low resistance between the primary winding wires, and slightly higher, but still very low, resistance between the secondary wires.
