Hi..we are new to the hot tub scene and are really excited to start using our hot tub. A friend and I bought this hot tub off of craigslist and had the wiring done by a professional electrician. But, once we tried to see if the hot tub worked and of course it was after the person who hooked it up to our house left, nothing happened. As my understanding is not to turn it on until one has enough H2O in the tub. We checked the timer(s) and everything else. Two lights work but the pump light is not on. We noticed inside the control panel that a white wire is not hooked up to anything. This one white wire comes from the circuit box that is hooked directly to the spa and the house. I understand that this white wire is neutral/common? The spa we have is pretty old 1988 and it is a Charisma T-2000 series 220V 50A. Does anyone know anything about these old dinosaurs? Did I explain well enough at what I am looking at for anyone to be able to point me in the right direction other then to buy a new spa? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What is the approximate gauge of the wire (thickness). If you are unsure, relate its size relative to say a standard pencil, or a speaker wire in your house. This will deterimine if it is a wire used to control something or is a larger current carrying wire, such as a neutral for the pump or heater.

Well, I bought a 6/3 wire. Was way expensive also. Is that the gauge?
