In 2000 I upgraded with a Maddox (MEI) 036 Field Upgrade kit which included the P1 P2 circuit board and Top Side P1 digital control for my 1993 LA Spa. Everything has been working very well until now. I get an alarm code which I can find no information telling me what it means. The code on the display is "P5C". The 5 may very well be a "S".

Can you tell me what this means?

The pump - Lo and Hi mode both work with this alarm present. However the heater will not. Consequently the low speed pump runs continuously as it would if the spa was calling for heat.

By pressing and holding the ECON button I can clear the alarm for an instant and if I am quick enough I can start the Hi speed pump without the alarm returning. While the Hi speed pump is running the spa begins to heat. As the Hi speed cycle times out or if I stop it returning to the Econ mode the P5C alarm returns immediately.

Your best bet is to go to http://turbotouch.com and try to deal with them directly.

I've tried dealing with them in the past and they're quite an arrogant bunch.... actually I sold and installed some of their digital controllers in years past only to be quite disappointed in after market support.

LA Spas, fwiw, did the right thing a few years ago and dumped MEI because i'm guessing they felt the same way I did - they offered the Gecko system (maybe they still do) as a standard replacement.

If you can't get anything other than noisy feedback on this thing, consider replacing that pos with a controller that has real customer support for years on end...

I don't understand, or have time to care about what's been going on with mei - all I know is - I haven't sold or installed them since 2001 - for the life of me I still don't understand why they even have a website for turbotouch. It makes no sense.

I'm done with it.
