Added Sep 5: I'm getting -40 code on the side controller. The symptoms are constantly changing, so it is hard to describe what is happening.

I have a LA Spa with a Maddox control. My manual for the LA Spa says it is a model P2L. The manual for the control says that is a P2L-G38. The spa runs on 220 and has two 2-speed pumps: Jet A & Jet B. It also has an air pump & light.

The spa constantly cycles and I can hear clicking in the control. The spa is supposed to go into filter mode when power is applied. Jet A is supposed to run on low for filter mode. It will start to run, then pump B will try to start running (for 2 seconds), then the light will flash along with clicking in the control and everything will shut down. Then the cycle starts again. It will continue to cycle like that for hours until I pull the circuit breaker. All of the breakers and fuses are OK. The GFI is not popping.

Help! I may turn this thing into kindling!
