I wanted to give my filters a thorough cleaning due to oil and lotion buildup so I decided to try putting them in the dishwasher. First I turned the "Heated Drying" setting off. Then I added detergent as normal and turned it on. When it was done I ran it again except the second time I didnt use any detergent. I wanted to be sure I got all the detergent out of the filters. This seemed to work quite well. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this.

Are you still soaking the filter in a 25% muratic acid solution for 30 minutes? this action itself dissolves built up solids, oils, etc from within the pores of the filter. The dishwasher is simply like rinsing the filter off with the hose. If you do continue to use the dishwasher, don't use any detergent! Detergents are one of the many reasons your filter clogs in the first place, and can contribute to foam and chemical imbalances in the tub.
