Hello, I just bought a house with a leaking hot tub...I know I know, I've read all the leak stuff, this leak is different. It is not coming from either of the pumps/seals, gate valves or heater. If I turn off the hot tub and let the water cool down the leak stops. I filled the hot tub up to the very top and let it set all night, no drips under the deck. But if i turn the power in as soon as the water gets hot it will drip 3/4 drops per second. Anyone have a clue, Its not the shell right? It is full now, cold, and no leak. Is it possible a seal fails when it gets hot? anyone with feedback would be great. isaac

Hello Isaac. I have no of informed opinion to offer and probably write here only because I hate to see a post goose-egg, and perhaps this might stimulate some interest from somebody WITH an informed opinion. Beyond that I can commiserate with you a little. I purchased a used tub that has a very slow leak NOT in the areas you mention too. I'm basically exercising the ostrich-head-in-the-sand technique with it. It isn't really harming anything and is more annoying only by its presence than any inconvenience or what damage it probably won't actually produce. I THINK mine is coming from or around the courtesy light into the tub. I'm just not willing to spend $357.86 (or whatever) for an official spa guy to come out w/some caulking. So, I say: DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT -- a little leak just gives your tub CHARACTER! [There. I just threw down the gauntlet to people who really know about this stuff.]

You fail to mention if you've traced the leak back to its source or where leak is coming from. 3-1 odds I'm guessing faulty seal/gasket. Something is failing to hold the water when it heats. Keep us updated.....

If it's leaking under a pump could be shaft seals or the rubber gaskets attaching plumbing.Under heater -gaskets or around heater housing, could be small crack in plumbing, post more details so we can narrow done the area please.
