I have a 97 Hot Springs Sovereign that leaks from the moto-massage compartment. there is a manufactored hole at the front bottom of the chamber that I have been told goes to a "winter freeze drain line". I have never heard of this. while i have torn out as much foam as i can to get to that area it is too far in for my arm to reach that spot. if the problem is really that drain line what harm can it do to simply fill the hole with a water proof sealer? is this really needed if the tub is kept at 104 degrees and used three or four times a week?

thank all for help and concern

You really can't reach it? Are you sure you're looking st the right thing?

It has a 1/8" bleedline running back towards the equip. compartment, and it can't be more than a foot from the exterior of the spa. It is easily reachable if you've removed a couple of wood slats and removed the foam.

If you decide to plug it, just be sure not only to plug the hole, but also the 1/8" bleedline on the back of the spa. Frankly, it sounds like you've done the hard part, it would be just as easy to repair the bleedline as plug it.

Good luck!

(you'll need a 19/64" drill bit to drill out the old nipple, and replace with a new nipple, part # 30598)
