I bought this house with a jacuzzi hot tub that is 20+ years old. the pumps
, blower and heater eventually all died. So I ripped everything out and ordered a spa pack. The only thing I am keeping is the the Hayward C250 filter. Someone made the suggestion to put the filter on the pressure side and "partly" bypass the filter to reduce water flow resistance from the filter. I am thinking about putting a straigt 2" pipe to
the jacuzzi and attaching two fittings that do not have sharp corners: one to the filter and one from the filter). Only part of the water will go through the filter. The spa pack comes with a 4.5HP two speed pump. It might me a little too big but the old system had 1.5HP and a 2.5 pump).
Any suggestions as two how I should connect all the pipes back to the jacuzzi to increase efficiency. What about the idead of partly bypassing the filter? Thanks for your help.

The Hayward C-250 already has a bypass built into the housing. No bypass should be necessary.
