I have what I think is a Calspa, with some crummy looking jets. I've tried cleaning them with a ton of different cleaners, but this corrosion or tarnish just won't go away. They were chrome looking, so I think I'm down to replacing them. How do I get these jets out without breaking things?

Get rid of the metal escutcheons. They're toast.

Underneath it's nice white plastic (or just stained at this point).

Note: Jet manufacturers make plastic stuff, not the metal (which is outsourced - lowest bidder rules). You should be able to rip out the thin -cheap ass- metal easily.

There is no sealing effect with any part of the metal that you see there - it's just cheap stamped chrome plated metal for surface appearance only - a flat blade screwdriver would probably make the job quick and easy - pry against the edge of it, (remember it's really thin), and pop the metal covering out.

Thanks a bunch. I was weary of trying that, because it kind of seemed like it might break more than just the metal, but I'll give it a shot.
