I have what is probably a bad check valve in my blower line, need to replace it. What is the best way to remove the old while causing as little damage to the existing lines as possible. Wouldn't be so bad if the top part wasn't attached to a hard line. There is plenty of slack in the flexible line to cut right at the base of the valve and attach the new valve but the top has me scratching my head. Attachment:

Looks like the piping is 1-1/2".. There's an "easy" way to do this. The 1-1/2" piping glues INTO the check valve, BUT where it glues into, the check valve has an outside diameter compatible with 2" PVC. You can cut off the check valve, leaving the part that's glued to the 1-1/2" PVC, then glue a 2" coupling over the remaining old check vale part, then reduce that back down to 1-1/2".
