I'm looking for a seasoned opinion on the repair of 2 similar Jacuzzi leaks.
The attached photos show each jet installation. They're on a Jacuzzi Lexus Plus Model #F290000, circa 1995, using HTC Jets.

The photo on bottom with the gobs of blue cement (a previous under-warranty repair, sloppy as it is) shows a jet assembly which appears to be leaking through the threads of the attaching nut.

The other photo shows a jet assembly which appears to be leaking between the tub back and the nut.

Questions:
Is it possible that simply tightening the nut(s) would seal either/both of these leaks? Tips for same?

Or is the only advisable solution to remove and reseal the jets? If removal/resealing is recommended, what would be the simplest procedure?

Is it possible/common for the jet housing to breach/leak, such that replacement is required?

Ok here's a 'seasoned opinion'. Just add the proper amount of salt and pepper to mine...

I would do this first.... drain the tub below the jet. Clean the face and edge of the jet. Put a bead of 100% clear silicone around the junction of the jet body and the shell. Smooth out with fingers.

Let dry.
Refill.

Don't let people play with the repair and you'll probably be good for a long time.

Otherwise, you can try to unthread that big fat nut on the back - (good luck), push out the jet a small amount, and put silicone in that joint. Tighten back down... etc.

Lather rinse repeat.

fwiw, the reason why that replumbing job looks so sloppy is because they use blue glue. I always use clear heavy bodied stuff that way I come off looking like I'm a plumbing pro. Lol.

Leaks like this are common. Especially since that whole thing got messed with when it was repaired.

That was the kind of fix I was expecting to hear; the details you provide are helpful. I was hoping that there was some trick to loosening the jets, but apparently not so.

Is there a wrench made that is open on one side to enable work on an installed jet? Do you have any other tool suggestions?

there are special wrenches, and if i'm not mistaken, they are the same or similar enough to a standard drain nut wrench available at most home improvement centers
