After a hard winter freeze my 20 year old Hot Springs Classic started to leak in a couple of spots right through the foam. I recently had to put in a new motor (see other thread) but after that I treated the tub by putting in 8 ounces of Fix A Leak which was supposed to stop or slow down the leaks, it didn't. I lose about an inch a day, why didn't Fix A Leak work?

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A lot can depend on the type and cause of the leak. If the area of the leak flexes, such as a crack running along a pipe, every time the pump turns on the pipe will flex (try to expand in diameter) and reopen the leak. A non-flexing leak would be a leak in piping glue joint and fix-a-leak is excellent for "plugging" these types of leaks.
