Hi guys,

I have a leak on the back side of one of the jets. It is leaking where the PVC pipe was glued into the jet. I tried to wiggle it & see if the PVC pipe would come loose, that way I could clean it up & re glue it. However it doesn't want to come out & I'm not about to break it. So... What can I put around the fitting that will hold & not leak? I want to do this once & once only. The spa is currently drained.

It's a Sundance Montego spa

Thanks, Rich

One thing that you could try is called loctite marine epoxy, it is sold at hardware stores, drain the tub down before you do it. We used it and it worked for us. if this does not stop the leak you may have to replace the jet and a good sevice tech can do this in a short period of time. Good Luck

Thanks for the advice, I appreaciate it!

If you see the new pic, I put a circle around where it's leaking at. It's where the hose fits into the jet housing.

The hose is loose enough that I can pull on it just a bit. Is this hose simply glued into the jet housing or is there also a barbed fitting in there?

I really need to know ASAP. The spa is currently drained & I would rather take the hose out, clean & re-glue it the right way to prevent a future leak. If not then I will have to go with the above mentioned solution.

Any help is much apreaciated!!!!!! :D

Wow, not too much help here? I am pretty good at fixing things myself so this is what I did.

I cut the white pvc flex pipe off at the jet housing. I then had a heck of a time getting the remaining hose out of the jet. I sliced it in a few places with a razor knife & then started to pry at it with a small screw driver. this took me a good 30 minutes before I got it all out. Then I cleaned it out with some sand paper. I used primer to clean it & glued a 3/4" pcv schedule 40 piece of pipe into it. I then used a coupler to join the pipe & the hose together.

After doing this I saw that you can buy a retrofit just for a sundance spa jet. this allows you to repair this same problem very easily. I saw this item at spa & pool source online. It was already too late though!

Oh well, this should work just fine though.
