I have an older tub which appears to have Hydro Air "Magna Series" jets. In case it is relevant, I do not have the stacked jet bodies. I have a couple of different types of jets but they all seem to be from that same series.

How do I remove the Adjustable Handle (30-4802)? I tried just popping it out but after using a bit of force it didn't move and I don't want to get too crazy without knowing that's what I need to do. Once it's removed, do I need to do anything else to get access to the gaskets?

Rotate counter-clockwise- I beleive it will unscrew.

You might need to turn the adjustable handle clockwise a little to get a little momentum going counterclockwise, if that makes any sense.

It only takes a few revolutions, and viola', the entire assymbly will come out.

Thanks Swine, I was able to get them out. On the inside of the "adjustable handle" were a couple of tabs I just had to gently lift to get them out of a track that was keeping it in.

That done and the part out, I don't see any gaskets here between the air intake and the water intake. Any thoughts about what might be preventing air to be sucked through the jets?

At any rate, the water creates a vacuum, drawing air in at the jet. If you're not getting air, try replacing or tightening all the jets that are on the same air "loop" It can only take one bad jet to screw up the entire loop.

Thanks again, I'll have to wait until I drain it. The only thing that actually screws in and thus can be tightened is the wall fitting which holds the jet manifold. It also holds in the nozzle that opens and closes the jet.

I'll also have to try and jerry-rig a wrench for it. I can't believe what they want for one of these things. I understand it's a custom tool but it's not a particularly complex tool now is it? It's a bar with two bumps on it. Oh well, I digress.

I found out that one of the jets was missing the internals; it didn't have the rotating piece. Once I put that in, there was enough resistance or what-have-you to start sucking air.

Now I'm looking at some of the remaining jets and I'm having difficulty with the Mini Magna; how do I get this thing out? I've tried rotating it out but that doesn't do it. There's nowhere to pull on the cage either.
