I have some old Sundance Intellijets (Optima 1995) that are growing old and becoming loose.

I bought some new ones but it is not entirley clear how to get the old assembly out of the housing.

It looks like the new ones just push in but there is a part of the old housing that needs to come out first.

There are depression fingers around the outside that look like they will go in easily but might be very difficult to get out once in.

Might there be a tool for this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Not seeing what you have, I would suggest a small screwdriver and carefully lifting these "fingers" out a tad to release them.

The part that is coming loose and falling out is shown on the following site:

http://www.sparepairs.com.au/category21_1.htm

under HydroAir VSR Jet - Old Style - about halfway down.

There are two parts shown in the photo and the part that is coming loose and falling out is shown to the left.

I am not sure if the part that it is falling out of is the same as shown on the right of the photo or not.

with those photos you provided, I can tell that I've had those jets before. What I did was just yank the center part out and snap the new one in place. I don't know of any tool for this. On that first link, the part on the left is the same as the center part on the right, they just took a picture of one out of the housing along with a complete set.

Thanks very much for responding. I thought they might just snap in and snap out given that they are starting to come out so easily. In my other research I have found no specific tool for this so I think you are right. I will try to do this and let you know how it goes.

The jets pull straight out. I just replaced mine on my Sundance and it is easy. No tools required. If the jets have thrown the bearings and are in half then take two dental scribes and gently hook the seems 180 degrees apart from each other and pull out. There you have it. Simple repair. The new ones just pop right back into the recepticle.
