I was given a Sundance spa ,it is a 1999 Austin(sweetwater). It turns out the spa has freeze damage. The entire return manifold is full of cracks. I do not understand why this leaks when the water level is not up to any returns(jets). I shut the valve on the suction side of the pump and the valve exiting the heater. The water drops to just above the suction grates. How is it migrating to the returns? I have worked on pools for quite a few years but not on spas. I would love to have a plumbing schematic for this spa but the local rep and corporate wont give it up. I clawed my way through the foam and have not exposed the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks, Chris

The problem was the valves gate had a crack in it and was letting the water through. Now if I could get those hoses off the barbed manifold fittings. Does Sundance use any adhesive along with the clamps?

shouldn't be any adhesive under the hoses. Often the vinyl fuses to the pvc of the manifold. You can usualy break them loose by grasping with a channel lock plier, and sort of wiggling them until they "pop".

good luck, I'd be surprised if that is the only source of leaks.
