I recently bought a house with a outdoor hottub. It is a pacific spa beachcomber. Not sure of the year however, and the previous owners did not leave a manual. For the first couple of weeks everything worked fine. This weekend my wife and I turned it on and for some reason the thing won't work. It seems that the jets are "surging" with air and the light on the heater will not stay on but rather blinks. Not sure what to do and real have no clue. If anyone has had this happen I would appreciate any help you could forward. Thanks. Christian

If the heater is blinking in sync with the surging, that would be because the pressure switch needs to be made before the heater will operate. Generally they won't heat when the jets are on, but if it's on low speed, that could be the case. As far as the surging, you could have a low water level allowing air to be sucked in, plugged filter allowing the water to be sucked out of the filter housing causing air to be drawn in, or even perhaps a gate valve that accidentally closed ahead of the pump causing it to not get enough water to keep functioning.

Thanks for the advice. The water level was low so I added some water and no more surging. The light is no longer blinking as well. Thanks again.
