Ok, my spa is a Nordic Crown. It was given to us by an aunt, so it's a little older. I don't believe it's a Crown II or an XL. Inside the pump housing it just says Crown.

First hot tub, so I'm not even sure about my terminology, so there is a small learning curve here.

My question is about the operation of the jets. I know the knurled one's you can twist to turn them on or off. Is there a specific order that I'm supposed to leave jets on (and / or off)

The jet layout is similar to this (This is a crown II, not the same tub)

I've noticed in my 5 minutes of playing, there are two BIG jets just under the skimmer. If I open them, the jets in the sidewall do not operate. If they are one, the water get's a pretty good whirlpool action going. Is the two jets overriding the other's normal?

Is this just a different type of "action" of the tub (Say instead of massaging your back) , or should I leave them this way when I'm not in it, so it's more of a cleaning feature? (It seems to drive any of the dirt / floaty thingies into the skimmer)

Last question, I can't turn a few of the jets. Should I just keep trying them? Pool was empty for a few months.

yes your assumptions are correct on all counts.

But do with your jets what you want. That's why they're adjustable.

There's no 'should - do' for a hot tub in the perspective that you are talking, as everything is there for operator comfort.

What I do... (Which simply stated doesn't mean that you should too ok?)

is take a large flat blade screwdriver, put it on the edge of the jet ring and tap it until it comes loose.

YMMV, and you could break a jet if you're not careful.
