Post subject: Circulating Pump Noise level
PostPosted: Wed Jun 22, 2005 10:05 pm
I just turned on our new Lesiure Bay Spa which has a 1/16hp circulating pump that runs all the time. My question is the noise level (it sounds like a power transformer humming) is this normal? I have a dual 5hp pumps running on 240v while the circulating pump is stepped down to 115v via the control box. Has anyone used any type of sound deadening materials to reduce the noise from the pumps?
Thank you WRD

They DO make a little noise, it's a fairly large circ pump L. Bay is using....

But you can quiet it substantially.....Try adding some insulation between the base of the pump and the wooden pedastool on which it sits... the wood can resonate quite abit...
