This doesn't classify as a spa pump, but is a pump of some sort so I figured this category would be ok.

What do you use for a pump to get the water out of a tub quickly? Do you have any pumps that suck very low and near dry to the bottom of the tub? I currently use a great dirty water pump that empties a tub super fast from Harbor Freight. Problem is that it requires a good 2" or more base of water at the minimum. I am trying to find a really good pump that can pump with almost nothing, and can suck down to near nothing. Do you have any recommendations for a pump that will do this? Even if it is smaller or moves less volume that is fine since I can use my fast one first, and then finish off with the smaller. Pump recommendations? Any at Harbor freight that will suck this low?

I see a few on eBay that say they will suck down to 1/8" which seems like it might be about as low as any average pump will go. If you do a search for 'Simer pump' or 'wayne pump' a few will pop up.

What do YOU use???

This is what I use for my power pump that pumps a TON of water super fast:

I am even thinking about possibly a non-submersible pump to get the last of the water.

I found this on HarborFreight as a non-submersible:

Anyone recommend a nice smaller pump to suck way low?

The last pump won't work to fit your bill - It has to have water in the cavity to work - (primed).

Get a piece of foam mattress to suck up the remainder - then if needed use a spa blower on a nema plug and flex hose to blow out the rest of the plumbing.

Most consumers (crazy I know but it works), use their shop vac to remove the remaining water.

I figured that pump would need priming....oh well, guess i'll get a pump that has a 1/8" versus the one I have that says 4" which is a huge difference.

I typically use one of those synthetic towels that sucks up a ton of water and lets you squeeze and reuse over and over.

I have been using a shop vac on customers tubs for years, especially when they don't have a blower. Some of those old tub manufacturers just loved to set the plumbing to have U drops and hold lots of water so I feel better getting as much as I can out by pulling the pipes from the pump, and then use the wet vac to Suck/Blow the remaining water out.
