Hi, i have a Hotsprings Jetsetter tub about 1996 vintage. Drained it and refilled it plugged it back in and waited a day and wouldn't heat. I pulled cover off and notice the heater was tripped. I reset the button on the back of the heater and it got real hot to the touch for about 45 minutes and then tripped again.

Correct me if i am wrong but could it be the circulation pump?? it was quite loud for a while after i plugged it back in. Other than that what else could it be?? I pulled it apart and it looks like the impeller is loose.

Might be the pump. Be sure you're filters are clean too.

The impellor is loose by design. It's a mag-drive pump. No shaft, no shaft seal. Very efficient at transmitting any heat produced back into the water. The impellor is nothing more than a spherical magnet, floating freely in the wet-end, while a magnetic armature spins inside the motor causing it to spin.

If you can't remember ever changing the circ. pump, it's probably time. The new circ. pump replacing all previous models on hotspring and tiger river has some great new features.
