This is a C&P from another website regarding getting more flow out of your Jaccuzi tub.

If you have a TWO pump spa system, you probably can add a 3hp pump in place of the 1hp high speed pump. This applies to Z140, Z150, Z235 and Z240. It also applies to the Platinum, Premier, Select, and Standard Series spas with two identical pumps. What you do is this: When the #1 filter/heater pump fails, move the #2 pump to the #1 pump location and replace the #2 pump with a 3hp pump/motor. In most cases there is no changing of any plumbing. If you wish to confirm that, email me a low resolution jpeg picture of the existing #2 pump area and I can tell you if this will apply to yours.

On these two pump systems, when the pump is on heater/filter mode or the LOW is on, ONLY the #1 pump operates. When you press HIGH, BOTH pumps operate. SO the OEM setup you get 1hp + 1hp or 2hp total output.

Now, by removing one 1hp pump and installing a 3hp pump, when on HIGH, you will have twice the output. For those who like a strong impact from the jets, this is the solution.

Caution: To date, not one install has resulted in a leak. The system is designed to handle the pump so no electrical or any modifications are needed. In some applications some minor changes are made but for the most part, no changes.
