Hi I have 1994 cal spa tradition series,given to me and it has two motors on it, one that connects to the heater the 3.0-3.3 HP , there is not much pressure coming out, can I replace it with a 4 HP motor to give it alittle more force. and also is this two speed or not. The reason I ask is because when it is on freeze cycle or timer and the heater kicks on the water comes out very very slow is that the second speed or does the heater that it plugs into just kick down the power to that motor, I can't see that on the motor unless I take it out to read it, I'm in chicago and its pretty cold here now and the hot tub is out side, so I would like to order the pump ahead of time and do it all at once. The other motor in it by the way is a 4HP and pushs water just fine. I'm not sure if theses are the original motors or not.\ and one was already replaced. just looking for advise. It's a 2 speed pump for sure.

But it's doing what it's supposed to do - timer/freeze/heater is normally slow speed (1725 rpm).

If you replace it you'll have the same results.

You don't want this thing running on high speed all the time unless you like big electric bills.
