Hello there all,

First I would like to say thank you for all of your help but I am in need of some more!

Symptoms:

I come out and flo code is set.

Motor is hot as heck to touch.

Every five minutes it tries to kick on and hums for a few seconds and stops.

Jump the pressure sensor and still same thing.

Shut off power and let cool down and the spa works great for hours.

I over insulated the thing and thought that was my problem but I reset it and left the cover off and used it 4 hrs later and had children play in it for hrs but again this morning same problem and is running great after letting the motor cool down again!

Question:

I figure the motor is overheating and has a feature to keep trying to kick on but because it is hot it shuts down {explaining the every 5 minute humming noise} BUT what is wrong with the pump? If I were to understand why it is overheating and what I may need to replace in the pump I could probably rebuild it!

Unless someone know a good place to have rebuilt within 50 miles of Cleveland Ohio?

If you've replaced the wet end (or impeller) on this pump, it's sized incorrectly causing the pump motor to draw more current than it is designed for.

You've probably got a failing run capacitor then. A local hvac guy could get you one. 8)
