Hi

I just bought a Catalina XL-15000 (Year 2000) with broken pumps, which Im looking to fix up. The pumps are Magnetek Waterway 48 Frame 2HP, one with 1 speed and one 2 speed.

Since I need to get all new pumps anyway I was wondering if I should up the HP a little to maybe 2.5 or 3 HP per pump.

Thanks in advance.

Not a good idea.

Unless your jet force is just too weak.

Ok thanks.

The thing is that I have no idea on the jet force since I bought the spa with broken pumps, and have not ordred new pumps yet.

But looking at the specs at later models of the XL-15000 I see that they have 2x4HP and the amount of jets or shape of the tub has not really changed too much. (Mine has 2x2HP)

So it makes you wonder why the specs has changed that much.

specs didn't really change.

if the plumbing is the same, then all they probably did was stick 'liar' labels on the pumps.

Thanks Brian

Now all I need to know is if Spapartsnet can deliver pumps for 230V/50Hz.

Which is what I need here.
