Hi group.

My Palermo is giving me an "FL1" error, and the circulation pump seems to not be working. When I set the temp adjustment for heat, the heater comes on for 3-5 seconds then goes off. This is consistent with a lack of flow detected by the flow switch.

I know the forst order is to check the filter, I'll swap it out tonight. But it bothers me that I can't feel any output from the circulation pump at the heater outlet. I have had "FL" errors before but usually a filter swap fixed them and I always had output from the circ pump.

Can I conclude from these symptoms that the circ pump is dead?

If so, can anyone recommend where to get a new one and how involved is the the repalcement? I am an electrical engieneer and do almost everything around my house and technical stuff does not scare me away. I use this tub every night and will miss it if it is not working....

TIA

JH

I like to pull the filter and see if you get flow without it in. I think the Sundance has a magnetic circ pump which means you may just have an airlock condition. You can put your hose in the filter pipe and reset the power. You can also take of the hose on top of the pump to bleed it (with power off). Circ pumps are easy to replace. I can't help you on where to get one.

Hope this helps

Pete

I should have replied since I fixed this.

It was the filter  . I tool it out and as I loosened the collar, I heard and felt a sucking sound and saw bubbles immediately out of the heater/circ outlet. Problem solved. I guess I need to clean my filter more often, huh?

Apparently the circ pump had pulled a pretty good vacuum in there.....!!
