I have a 3.5 yr old ProFlo garden tub (whirlpool) in the master bath. This is a very simple, push the button in for air (button stays halfway in), push the button again to turn air off (button comes back out).

When I last used the air button to turn the jets off, the button stuck in the "IN" position. I can access the pump from an access hatch in the garage, but cannot directly see the air button from there. What are the possible failure modes for an air button that could result in this behavior? Am I right in thinking that "stuck in" is a symptom of a loss of air in the system somewhere? This is a nearly new house, so age/dirt/vermin is not an issue. If there has been loss of air, could it be in the control box that sits on top of the pump, or is it more likely to be at the button end of the air line? Any pointers on what to look for would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tallyjay

You say 'Air button'.

Does this 'button' have an AIR HOSE on it? Or does it have wires?

It has an air hose that leads from the button to a control box on top of the pump that runs the hydro-jets.

Some of the air buttons have like a check valve flap in the base that can sometimes just get stuck and not allow the air button to return to it's position. Typically I'll just replace the air button and the air hose.
