I recently had to replace the pump motor. On its way out, the motors pumping action was up & down with a sporadic surging & a whining noise. The pump definitely finally bit it. I purchased a new one from SpaPartsNet & replaced. I cleaned up the spa, filled with water and turned on the power. The motor comes on in a high speed for a second, drops to a lower speed for 2 seconds, then shuts off. About 5 seconds later it repeats the same of what I detailed. It would probably continue to cycle like this until I disconnect power to the tub. The old motor I replaced is a Hydro-quip Mod# 48HQCF10-03-2C-120R. Also; Ultra Jet Mod# 5KC38RN3818X. Two speed 120V. The new one is (product id #) MOFEO1. When I opened box with new motor I noticed that it did not have a separate housing on back to house the capacitor. The new motor, according to the person I talked to with the question of why no capacitor said in is internal. I don't see for sure if this is true do to the lack of room within the motor winding housings limited physical size. Lack of a capacitor would not allow correct sine wave to start motor. Do you Agree? And if so. can I install the old capacitor housing to correct starting issue to the new motor? Otherwise, can it be some other issue? Somebody please help! I have called and left a message and I have left an e-mail from the ' contact us" option. I just registered here for this topic forum so i am now wondering if anybody is out there?
