Strange problem. The heater light will not turn OFF. That's right. It's on now, but I can't turn it off. This happened before a while ago, and it eventually turned off when I depressed the button (air driven). I thought it might be the pushbutton (The topside control is literally a week old), so I switched the 'jet' pushbutton and hose and hooked it up to the 'light' connection on the spapack. Nothing. So then I thought it might be the hose itself, so I switched those and tried it. Nothing.

I tried the 'light' pushbutton and hose on the 'jet' connection, and the jets came on, so I'm narrowed the problem down to the other side of the 'light' connection on the spa pack.

My question is what to do next..and what do you call the part that I need to replace?

I have a Brett Aqualine "Spa Builders" spa pack with a new TecMark spaside controller.

Another issue is that when I was screwing around with the hoses, now the heater is not working...my topside is digital and there is no display. I had to jumper a wire to make the heater work when I did the install, so I suspect that moving the hoses around also moved the thermostat wire around (which enters the box so the tip can enter the thermowell), and a wire is loose. Only explanation for that I think. I did hook up the hose to the wrong 'aux' connection on the spapack, and pushed the button, so may I switched something off that needs to switched back on?

So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

after some thinking, I think this is what happened:

The 'aux' connection that I mistakenly connected the jet pushbutton hose to is actually a heater switch, so now that switch is closed. Repeating the process should re-energize the heater. I assume that connection is there (It is not and was not on the faceplate of the new topside) so when you want to turn the heater off you don't have to disconnect power, or lose your setting on the dial. I could use this feature, I'd just need a new 3 button face plate (right now I have a 2 button).

The issue seems, after some research, to be a stuck cam. Some silicone spray should do the trick...?

silicone spray does work on stuck cams, and so can wd-40. Some oil based products can harm the diaphragm tho so the silicone spray is a safer bet. Not to mention it won't attract dust as easily.

The heater issue was in fact due to the wrong connection. I do not have a blower in my unit, but I do have an 'air' hose connection on the spa pack, that I inavertantly switched. So I switched it back and it works fine.

What I will probably do, instead of trying to lubricate it, is replace is with the 'air' switch (swap them), if this is possible. I'll know when I open the pack tomorrow I guess.

Either way the problem seems like an easy fix.

Thanks charger !
